SUBJECT: Funding Application for the Establishment of a School/Law Enforcement Partnership

  
     With grant funding from the Department of Criminal
  Justice Services, the Department of Education is offering
  the opportunity for localities to submit applications for
  mini-grants that will  ". . .support the establishment of
  school/law enforcement partnerships." Copies of this
  application and the procedure for applying are attached.

     Also attached are Guidelines that will assist school
  divisions and law enforcement agencies in the establishment
  of these partnerships.  

     Applications must be submitted to the Department of
  Education no later than March 20, 1998.  Any questions
  regarding this process should be directed to Marsha Hubbard,
  School Safety Specialist, at (804) 225-2928.
