| SUBJECT: | Universal Service Update |
The Universal Service (E-Rate) 75-day filing window is now open and the Schools and Libraries Corporation (SLC) is accepting applications from schools and libraries. All applications received within the 75-day window will be treated as if they were simultaneously received at the SLC. Applications received after the window closes will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis. The SLC has issued several informational updates in the past few days to help schools and libraries determine eligible equipment and services. The website address for updated information is: http://www.neca.org/funds/faslc.htm. I have also enclosed a hard copies of the list of eligible services and a fact sheet on discount calculations. For questions related to Universal Service discounts please call the Schools and Libraries Corporation at (888) 203-8100 or Greg Weisiger at the Department of Education at (804) 692-0335.
