Request for Proposals to develop School-Based Employment Partnerships in Collaboration with Adult Service Agencies Serving Graduating Youths with Disabilities |
The Virginia Department of Education, in anticipation of receiving funding from the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities, is pleased to announce an opportunity for local school divisions to develop school-based employment partnerships that will serve transition age students with disabilities preparing to graduate and enter competitive employment. This request for proposals (RFP) asks local schools and local adult service agencies to collaborate to improve post-school employment outcomes for youths with disabilities. Two-year awards will be made competitively to eight local school divisions. The RFP with accompanying information is being mailed directly to local directors of special education. Proposals must be received by Sharon deFur, Virginia Department of Education, P.O. Box 2120, Richmond, VA 23218-2120, by 5:00 p.m. on May 20, 1998. Please be advised that any proposals received after that time will not be considered.
