Attached is a list of Virginia laws addressing suspensions and expulsions, as well as information on related areas. These excerpts from the Code of Virginia reflect the action by the 1998 General Assembly. The Department of Education is in the process of updating the 1994 Student Conduct Policy Guidelines, which will reference these items. In the meantime, please be aware of the changes listed in the attachment when updating local policies.
