ADMINISTRATIVE

Training on the Annual School Report was last provided
to school divisions in 1988.  Since that time, new people have
been employed who are responsible for completing the report at
the local level, the responsibility within the Department of
Education has been transferred from the Accounting office to the
Budget Office, and some of the reporting requirements have changed.

Consequently, the Department is offering training on the financial
portion of the Annual School Report to school divisions.  The goal
of this training is to make the reporting requirements more
understandable, and to provide a faster, easier way for divisions
to submit the data.  We are requesting that at least one person
from each school division attend one of these workshops.  

The Department will be providing workshops as follows:

April 28 - Best Practices Center, Marion, VA     
           9 a.m. to 12 noon
April 29 - Valley Vocational Center, Fishersville, VA
           9 a.m. to 12 noon 
May 6    - 18th Floor, Monroe Building, Richmond, VA
           9 a.m.  to 12 noon
May 7    - 18th Floor, Monroe Building, Richmond, VA
           9 a.m. to 12 noon 
May 10   - Longwood College, Farmville, VA
           9 a.m. to 12 noon

Attached is a form that must be completed and returned to the
Department so we may finalize the plans for the workshops across
the state.  Please return this form to Ms. June Eanes, Budget
Director, by April 1.  It may be faxed to (804) 225-2300. We will
then notify you of the specifics of the workshop including
directions, etc.  If you have any questions concerning this,
