Award Amounts for Replacement of Administrative and Student
Management Information System ("Component D"), VPSA School Equipment Financing-Notes Educational Technology Issue VI |
The Department of Education has completed determining eligibility of schools and school division central offices for participation in Component D, of Educational Technology Issue VI, VPSA School Equipment Financing Notes. Anticipated award amounts are attached for your information and planning purposes. School divisions, individually or collectively, are free to select and purchase new student information software products meeting their individual needs. The Department of Education has requested the Department of General Services to establish a state contract list for student information management software products. We expect this list to be published this fall, and we will keep you informed regarding this initiative. Please note that the VPSA program also permits reimbursement for hardware necessary to run new student information management software. Please refer to page 3 of Administrative Superintendent's Memorandum Number 26, April 30, 1999, for requirements to purchase software and hardware. If you have questions relating to the financing or determination of qualifying reimbursements under federal or state law, please call Mrs. June Eanes, budget director, or Brian Logwood, education finance specialist, at (804) 225-2025. Questions relating to the technology program, items that may be purchased from these proceeds, or allocation methodology for the administrative and student management information systems should be directed to Lan Neugent, assistant superintendent, Division of Technology, at (804) 225-2757.
