The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce that the Blue Ridge
Institute - "Linking Health Science and Technology to Learning" will be held July
10-14, 2000, at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. The goal of the
institute is to assist educators in utilizing technology and health science to
enhance student achievement.
The four-day residential institute will offer school personnel with a vested
interest in health and wellness, the opportunity to participate in professional
development activities that demonstrate how technology and health science enhance
the implementation of the technology and core Standards of Learning. In addition,
the institute will provide a forum for educators to build collaborative partnerships
to increase student achievement and enhance employee wellness. We hope that your
staff will be able to attend this excellent professional development institute.
The enclosed registration material provides the information you will need to ensure
participation by your division. Please make as many copies of the enclosures as
