| SUBJECT: | Carryover Guidelines for Carl Perkins Vocational Funds |
The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you that school divisions will be allowed to carryover unspent Fiscal Year 99-00 Perkins federal funds until August 15, 2000. These funds must be expended in accordance with the approved local application. If needed, the school division may amend the local plan to cover expenditures for activities not approved in the 1999-2000 local plan. Funds are to be expended on or before the August 15 deadline. A final request for reimbursement must be received by the Department of Education on or before September 30, 2000. All funds not expended by the local school divisions before August 15 and not claimed before the September 30, 2000, deadline will be reallocated in the 2000-2001 revised allocations to local school divisions. The information provided in this memorandum will be presented in more detail at the Regional Vocational Education Update meetings in March to assist vocational administrators in handling unspent Perkins funds.
