| SUBJECT: | Electronic Mail Communication to Superintendents |
Effective June 1, 2000, all official electronic mail communication from the Acting Superintendent of Public Instruction to division superintendents will occur via newly established electronic mail accounts hosted by Virginia's Public Education Network (VA.PEN). These accounts will be used frequently to communicate with division superintendents and ensure expedient transmittal of important information. Division superintendents will receive confidential, written notification of the e-mail account name and password in the near future. These electronic mail accounts may be accessed directly, or superintendents may configure their accounts to forward mail to any other valid Internet address. I hope the use of these e-mail accounts will facilitate timely communication.
