| SUBJECT: | Health, Immunizations and Certificates |
The 2000 General Assembly amended §§22.1-271.2,
22.1-300, and 32.1-46 of the Code of Virginia regarding health
and immunizations. The legislation allows registered nurses, in addition
to physicians and employees of local health departments, to immunize school
children and to provide certificates or documentary proof of such immunizations.
In addition, the legislation deleted the requirement that physicians and nurses who certify that public school employees have been tested and found free of tuberculosis be employees of a local health department.
