INFORMATIONAL
| TO: | Division Superintendents |
| FROM: | Jo Lynne DeMary
Superintendent of Public Instruction |
| SUBJECT: | TEACHERS-TEACHERS.COM |
In a continuing effort to recruit licensed
teachers for the classrooms of Virginia, I am pleased to announce the availability
of TEACHERS-TEACHERS.COM, an online teacher placement service. TEACHERS-TEACHERS.COM
recently joined forces with the American Association of Colleges for Teachers
of Education (AACTE) to create one national teacher resume database available
to school divisions. TEACHERS-TEACHERS.COM provides an inexpensive and
effective way to recruit licensed teachers throughout the country who may
be seeking employment in Virginia.
TEACHERS-TEACHERS.COM is offering a 10 percent discount off the website's regular membership fee for Virginia school divisions that decide to participate in this national resume database service. The Department of Education's Division of Teacher Education and Licensure will enclose a leaflet with licenses issued throughout the year encouraging individuals to add their resumes to the database. Since the inception of the national database service, this program has helped schools fill vacancies in a variety of teaching areas. Human resource directors can review resumes and communicate with prospective teachers regarding employment opportunities in their school divisions. Affiliation with this service will make available brief audio interviews online with the candidates and will help human resource directors save time in the screening process.
If you would like to see a preview of TEACHERS-TEACHERS.COM, go to www.teachers-teachers.com and click on "Schools Looking for Teachers." If you have questions or require additional information about this national database, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Brett Spodak, president of TEACHERS-TEACHERS.COM, at (410) 832-2684; or Thomas A. Elliott,(mailto:telliott@pen.k12.va.us), assistant superintendent, Division of Teacher Education and Licensure, at (804) 371-2522.
