SUBJECT:	Revised Accrediting Standards

On July 28 the Board of Education adopted revised Regulations Establishing Standards for Accrediting Public Schools in Virginia. It is anticipated that the standards will become effective September 28 following a 30-day review period.

The revised standards, along with two summaries of the changes, can be found on the Department’s website at www.pen.k12.va.us. If you have problems downloading a copy from the website, please contact the Office of Accreditation at (804) 786-9421, or e-mail Ms. Phyllis Martin at mailto:pmartin@mail.vak12ed.edu, and a Word 97 version will be e-mailed to you. A PowerPoint presentation is also available from the Office of Accreditation.
