|SUBJECT:||Inhalant Prevention Resource Guide|
The Department of Education is pleased to announce the availability of a new publication, the Inhalant Prevention Resource Guide. This document was developed as a direct response to continued requests from school divisions for materials and information about inhalant abuse prevention.
Inhalant abuse has been described as a "silent epidemic." Teachers and administrators need to become aware of the problem and examine ways to effectively address it, particularly at the middle school level. National reports show that inhalants are most commonly abused among preteens and young teens.
Two copies are being mailed to each division superintendent. Additional copies may be requested at no charge. An order form is attached.
Questions may be addressed to Arlene Cundiff
