| SUBJECT: | Survey of Limited English Proficient(LEP) Students: Part II |
The Department of Education issued Part I of the Survey of Limited English Proficient (LEP) Students to each locality in October 2000 (Administrative Supts. Memo No.57). A federal grant received by the Department of Education requires the collection of additional data not requested in previous fall surveys. Thus, the LEP survey has again been divided into two parts. Part II, the current survey, requests the following information for the 2000-2001 school year:

Detailed instructions for completing and submitting the report are enclosed.
Each contact person for the LEP Survey report should
coordinate the collection of the data for the division and submit the data by e-mail to LEP@mail.vak12ed.edu by August 10, 2001.
If you have any questions related to
the LEP Part II Survey, please contact Associate Director for Foreign Language
and ESL Faye Rollings-Carter (mailto:frolling@mail.vak12ed.edu) at 804-225-2593.
