FROM: Jo Lynne DeMary
Superintendent of Public Instruction
SUBJECT: School and Staff Administration Data Collection–Phase I

Phase I of the School and Staff Administration Data Collection includes the reporting of the following information for the 2001-2002 school year:

This information is the Department of Education's official means of identifying schools for mailings, data collections, and the Virginia Educational Directory. The directory will be published in the fall of 2001.

Updates to the data for the 2001-2002 school year will be made through a Web-based form. Each school division should designate a contact person who will coordinate the collection of the data for the division and update the information through the Web form by the due date, August 13, 2001. A confidential letter will be mailed to each superintendent to provide the login ID, password, and Web address that will allow the contact to access and update the information through a Web browser. After all data for the school division are complete, a verification form must be signed by the superintendent and sent to the Department of Education.

Please note the following information for this year’s School and Staff Administration Data Collection:

NOTE: The Virginia Educational Directory is published in two formats: 1) WWW Document – www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/dbpubs/doedir         2) paper publication
