| SUBJECT: | Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals (VAESP) Annual Assistant Principals and Lead Teachers Professional Development Conference, March 25-27, 2001 |
The Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals (VAESP) and the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) invite all assistant principals, lead teachers, principals and other professional educators within your school or school division to participate in the 2001 Annual Assistant Principals and Lead Teachers Professional Development Conference. The conference will be held March 25-27, 2001, at the Williamsburg Lodge, Williamsburg, Virginia.
This conference is designed specifically for assistant principals and teachers who are responsible for providing instructional leadership. Dr. Ruby Payne will provide three outstanding workshops during two days of the conference. These workshops will provide in-depth study of information and issues that will increase participants’ knowledge and understanding of the impact of poverty, cognitive structures necessary for an individual to learn, and strategies that will apply those structures to the classroom setting and teaching of the Standards of Learning.
As we continue to provide the best possible professional development opportunities for principals and teachers of Virginia, we hope that you will join us in Williamsburg for this outstanding professional development program. Under a separate mailing, registration material will be sent directly to elementary principals and assistant principals in your school division.
If you have questions about the conference or need additional information, please call VAESP at (804)
355-6791, fax (804) 355-1196, or e-mail vaesp@earthlink.net.
Thanks to each of you for all
of the work you do for the children of the commonwealth.
