SUBJECT: Title IV: Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Fiscal Year 2000-2001 Progress Report

Section 4117 of the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (SDFSCA) requires the collection of information about state and local implementation of the SDFSCA. States are required to submit information on state and local programs conducted with assistance furnished through the SDFSCA. Information from school divisions is required for inclusion in the Virginia report to the United States Department of Education.

Copies of the reporting form (see attachment) were previously provided to the SDFSCA school division coordinators attending the statewide Technical Assistance Workshop held in Newport News, March 19-21, 2001. Copies of the form were mailed to coordinators who did not attend the workshop.

Two copies of the progress report for the fiscal year 2000 (July 1,2000 June 30, 2001), must be submitted to the Virginia Department of Education no later than August 17, 2001.
