encouraged.
This report
must be submitted in ASCII file format using the new Web-based data

text file directly to the Department of Education. Instructions for this new Web-based data submission process will
be available by July 1, 2002.
A custom-designed Annual School Report
Statistical Section (ASRSTAT) spreadsheet can be downloaded from the Department
of Educations website at www.pen.k12.va.us
by selecting "Reports" at the top of the homepage or "Data and
Publications" at the bottom and then selecting "2001-2002 Annual

spreadsheet is www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Publications/asrstat/datacoll/coll.htm.
Detailed instructions for completing and submitting the report and file
layouts for ASCII flat files can also be found at this site. Excel 97 or later versions should be used to
complete the ASRSTAT spreadsheet.
