SUBJECT:	Directory of Youth Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention Resources

The Office of Compensatory Programs is pleased to provide each school division with a complimentary copy of the publication, A Directory of Youth Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention Resources for Schools and Communities in Virginia. This document (being mailed under separate cover) has been completely revised and rewritten to reflect the most current information available.

The original 1997 publication was very well received by Virginia schools and communities -- more than 10,000 copies were printed and distributed at no charge. In fact, the continued strong demand for identification of resources provided the incentive for the Virginia Department of Education to decide to publish a second edition of an exceptionally popular publication.

Additional copies are available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge. Please utilize the attached order form. School division representatives may wish to duplicate this memo and the order form for the purpose of providing a courtesy copy to private schools and community groups within individual school divisions.
