INFORMATIONAL

Division Superintendents

FROM:

Jo Lynne DeMary

Superintendent of Public Instruction

SUBJECT:

Additional Information Regarding Reporting Requirements for State-Funded Remedial Programs

In order to assist school divisions to comply with reporting requirements for state-funded remedial programs, the Division of Instruction has established a website at the following address: http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Instruction/remediationreg.html. On the website, in Word format, is a reporting form (Attachment A) that identifies the data to be collected for state-funded remedial programs provided during 2002-2003. The reporting form will enable divisions to plan for data collection as required by 8 VAC 20-630, the regulation for state-funded remedial programs outlined in Superintendents Administrative Memo No. 30 (May 28, 2002). Actual data entry will occur on the electronic reporting form, available in June 2003.

To assist school divisions in maintaining records for students enrolled in state-funded remedial programs, a sample individual student record (Attachment B) is also available on the website. School divisions may use their own student record format or adapt the sample record, as needed.
