Training for the Virginia Alternate Assessment
Program |
The Office of Special Education and the Division of
Assessment and Reporting will conduct three information and training sessions
on the Virginia Alternate Assessment Program.
Information sessions will be a half-day in length and are designed to
provide program updates and changes.
Each school division is invited to send the director of special
education, the division director of testing, and one parent resource center
staff member to these sessions. All information
sessions will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Registration materials will be available at 9:00 a.m.
In addition to the information sessions, the
Virginia Department of Education will also provide three training sessions
using a train-the-trainer model. The
train-the-trainer sessions are designed to equip school division trainers to
conduct training sessions within their respective school divisions. Each school division is invited to select
two persons to attend the training and serve as the division's Virginia
Alternate Assessment Program trainers.
Train-the-trainer sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration materials and training
materials will be available at 8:00 a.m.
To register for these sessions, please complete and
submit the attached registration form by July 30, 2002. Registration forms should be returned to Ms.
