Title I
Data Collection for School Year 2001-2002 |
The U.S.
Department of Education requires states to submit information annually on local
programs conducted through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Title I,
Parts A, C, and D. The U.S. Department
of Education has recently released the revised requirements for the 2001-2002
Consolidated Performance Report and has given states a quick turnaround time to
respond. In order to meet the federal
reporting deadline, school evaluation data must be submitted to the Virginia
Department of Education on or before Tuesday, May 23, 2003.
This year,
two changes in the Title I data collection process should be noted:
Each division
Title I coordinator should manage the collection of the data for the division
and submit one consolidated report through the e-mail submission process. A copy of the data collection tool, with
instructions for consolidating individual school data and submitting the
report, is available at the following website: http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Publications/TITLEI/datacoll/coll.htm
The
Department of Education has contracted with a data collection consultant to
assist in this process. Please direct any questions or comments regarding the
Title I data collection process to Susan Frierson (TITLEONE@mail.vak12ed.edu), at
(804)740-1469.
For
additional questions regarding the new Title I data collection process, please
contact Brenda Spencer, (bspencer@mail.vak12ed.edu),
specialist, Office of Compensatory Programs, at (804) 371-6201.
