Applications for Phase II Submission Under Public Law 107-110, No Child
Left Behind Act of 2001 |
This is the official notice for submission of the
2003-2004 Phase II local consolidated and individual applications for certain
federal program funds included in the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). Applications should be received in the
Department of Education no later than September 30, 2003. A delay of Phase II federal program funding
for school divisions may result if applicants do not meet the submission
deadline. Final funding amounts from
the U.S. Department of Education will be available before the Phase II
application is due.
An original and eight copies of the local
consolidated application should be submitted to George H. Irby, director,
Office of Program Administration and Accountability. School divisions submitting individual applications should
provide an original and two copies of the application to the appropriate
director/specialist for each applicable program. Applications should be mailed to the Virginia Department of
Education, 101 N. 14th Street, 23rd floor, Richmond,
Virginia 23219 (by overnight carrier), or if by U.S. Postal Service at P. O.
Box 2120, Richmond, Virginia 23218-2120.

Three one-half day technical assistance forums to address the requirements for Phase II applications will be held. Information is listed below.
July 17, 2003, Regions V, VI, VII, 1 p.m.-4 p.m., Hotel Roanoke; July 22, 2003, Regions II and III, 9 a.m.-Noon, Newport News, Schools Administration Building; July 29, 2003, Regions I, IV, and VIII, 9 a.m.-Noon, Fulghum Center, Chesterfield County Public Schools.
