Adjustments
in 2001-2002 Federally Funded Class Size Reduction Program |
The Virginia
Department of Education has been notified of an additional allocation of
$35,240 for the 2001-2002 federally funded class size reduction program. These funds must be distributed to school
divisions based on the federal formula described in the statute, Public Law
106-113. In addition to the new federal
funds, $91,462 from school divisions that waived participation in the 2001-2002
federal class size reduction program have been reallocated to participating
school divisions.
The attached
table is a listing by school divisions of the entitlement for the additional
funds. In order to receive the funds,
school divisions must complete the attached budget form and return as indicated
in the instructions no later than August 15, 2003. These funds must be used in accordance with the federal statute
and guidance for the 2001-2002 class size reduction program. In addition to the budget form, please
return the attached class size reduction final report for the 2001-2002 grant
no later than August 15, 2003.
