Report for 2002-2003 |
The 2002
Virginia General Assembly session resulted in charter school legislation that
became effective July 1, 2002, and directly affects school divisions and
requires action by local school boards.
House Bill 734 requires local school boards to report annually to the
Board of Education the number of public charter school applications that were
approved and denied. The Board of Education is required to include the number
of charter school applications approved and denied in its annual report to the
Governor and General Assembly. The full
