Two
Regional Forums for Key Instructional Leaders
on the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001(NCLB) |
The Department of
Education will sponsor two forums specifically designed for key instructional
leaders to receive information and updates on Virginias implementation of No
Child Left Behind requirements. Dr. Patricia I. Wright, assistant
superintendent for instruction, will lead the forum. Instructional staff from the department will also be in
attendance. Key topics will include
accountability and assessment, teacher and paraprofessional quality, limited
English proficiency, and Reading First.
The forums are
being held in Roanoke and Richmond beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding by 3
p.m. Registration will begin at 9 a.m.
The hotels are holding a block of overnight rooms at the state government rate
for those in need of lodging.

Space is limited to two
instructional leaders from each school division. Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging
expenses. Lunch will be on your own. A
hot buffet lunch is being offered at both sites to accommodate
participants. Materials and breaks will
be provided.

returned to Diane Jay in the Office of Compensatory Programs no later than
