Virginia Association of Pupil Transportation

(VAPT) and Department of Education Pupil

Transportation Conference, June 22-25, 2003

 

The 2003 Virginia Pupil Transportation Conference sponsored by VAPT and supported by the Department of Education will be held at the Wyndham Roanoke Airport, June 22-25, 2003.

 

Specific information will be sent to the transportation director in your school division. Registration is scheduled for Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. VAPT is sponsoring a ROAD-E-O for drivers on Monday afternoon.

 

The conference will include sessions for transportation personnel on topics such as managing student behavior, a review of state and national regulations, crash investigation, and implications of the No Child Left Behind legislation on transportation. Off-site technical maintenance training will be held for technicians and mechanics. Exhibitors will be on hand to discuss their products with drivers, technicians, and directors.

 

A special invitation is extended to division superintendents and other school officials who are involved in purchasing pupil transportation equipment and anyone interested in learning more about changes affecting pupil transportation. Registration information will be contained in the package that will be sent to your transportation director or may be requested by contacting the individuals listed below.
