School Bus Contracts

The Department of Education is pleased to announce that the Division of Purchases and Supply has released the new school bus contracts. The contracts are for Thomas, Bluebird with International Chassis, and International Chassis (IC) buses. This year, the contracts feature:

1. Type C Conventional, Type D Engine Front, and Type D Engine Rear buses.

2. Provisions for volume discounts for large orders. The volume discounts apply to the base price of the bus, but not the options. The volume for purposes of the discount is based on the number of buses ordered for a given type of bus regardless of the passenger size.

3. Localities can combine their orders so that they can achieve volume discounts.

4. Orders must be for a complete bus no more separate chassis and body contracts.
