SUBJECT:	Suicide Prevention Guidelines (2003 Revision)

The Board of Education recently adopted revisions to the Suicide Prevention Guidelines. The revisions to the 1999 document provide more information to help school personnel keep in touch with parents after an initial contact to discuss their childs potential for a suicide attempt. The revised guidelines can be found on the departments website at www.doe.virginia.gov/support/prevention/suicide/, in the publications section.
