Fiscal Year 2003 Career and Technical Education
Entitlements (State Funds) |
The final fiscal year 2003 state entitlements for
career and technical education for each school division, including regional
center payments, are contained in Attachment A. Please note that the career and technical education state
entitlements for regional centers are paid directly to the school divisions
participating in the regional centers rather than to a single fiscal
agent. Regional center entitlements
paid directly to participating school divisions should be transferred to the
regional center to which they are due prior to the close of the fiscal
year. The amounts contained in
Attachment A will be paid to school divisions on May 16, 2003, by electronic
funds transfer.
State funds distributed to eligible school divisions are based upon actual expenditures from the prior fiscal year and the total funds appropriated by the General Assembly for these two programs. To determine each school divisions fiscal year 2003 allocation for occupational preparation and adult occupational programs, state funding is divided by total fiscal year 2002 expenditures (both state and local funds) to determine a reimbursement percentage for each program. For fiscal year 2003, it has been determined that each eligible school division can be reimbursed for 28.72 percent of its fiscal year 2002 occupational preparation expenditures and for 32.45 percent of its fiscal year 2002 adult occupational program expenditures. Those school divisions that did not operate these programs in fiscal year 2002 and, therefore, did not record any local expenditures in fiscal year 2002, will not receive a state reimbursement in fiscal year 2003.
Questions concerning the state entitlements may be addressed to Mrs. Leigh H. Williams, senior budget analyst, at (804) 225-2025. If programmatic information is needed, please contact Robert A. Almond, director, Office of Career and Technical Education Services, at (804) 225-2847.
