Proposed
Emergency Regulations Governing the General Achievement Diploma (HB 1464) |
The General
Assembly this year approved House Bill 1464 that directs the Board of Education
to establish by September 1, 2003, by regulation, requirements for the award of a general achievement diploma for those
persons who have (i) achieved a passing score on the GED examination; (ii)
successfully completed an education and training program designated by the
Board of Education; and (iii) satisfied other requirements as may be established
by the board for the award of such a diploma.
Proposed emergency regulations and requirements for the general
achievement diploma were presented to the Board of Education on May 28, 2003.
The Department of Education invites you to review and comment on the proposed
emergency regulations and requirements that are attached to this
memorandum. Comments will be accepted
until July 15, 2003. Comments should be submitted to Maureen B. Hijar at the
