Revised List of Certification Examinations Approved for the Board of Educations Career and Technical Education and Advanced Mathematics and Technology Seals and Student-Selected Verified Credit

On June 25, 2003, the Board of Education approved additional industry certification examinations for the Board of Educations Career and Technical Education and Advanced Mathematics and Technology Seals and the student-selected verified credit. Certain career and technical education (CTE) certification examinations from the approved list were deleted because they have been discontinued or no longer match the secondary level competencies.

The revised list of board-approved industry certifications and licenses can be accessed and downloaded at the following Department of Education website: http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Instruction/CTE/memos/seals/certifications.pdf. The Web-based CTE Administrative Planning Guide is currently being revised to reflect this board action, and will contain CTE course/program correlations to board-approved certifications as well as summary information for each credential.
