Proposed Standards for School Counseling Programs in Virginia Public Schools

On September 17,2003, The Standards for School Counseling Programs for Virginia Public Schools were presented to the Board of Education. These proposed standards are a revision of the 1984 Standards of Learning for School Counseling and Guidance Programs. The Department of Education invites you to review and comment on the proposed standards that are attached to this memorandum. Comments will be accepted until November 26, 2003. Comments should be submitted to Sylinda Gilchrist at the Department of Education, P.O. Box 2120, Richmond, VA 23218-2120,or faxed to 804-371-8796, as well as, e-mailed to her at the address below.
