SUBJECT: |
Final Payment for Fiscal Year 2004 Remedial Summer School |
Administrative Superintendents Memorandum Number
44, dated July 25, 2003, requested school divisions to provide an estimated and
an actual count of fiscal year 2004 remedial summer school enrollment (summer
2003 program). The requested data have
been received from all divisions.
Based on the actual enrollment data submitted,
fiscal year 2004 remedial summer school payments must be prorated since
entitlements based on actual enrollment exceed the state appropriation. Payments based on actual enrollment are
prorated at 97.92 percent of the full entitlement.
Attachment A shows the actual fiscal year 2004
remedial summer school enrollment and the prorated entitlement for each school
division. On the October 16, 2003,
payment school divisions received an initial payment based on estimated
enrollment (approximately 33 percent of the full entitlement). On the October 31, 2003, payment divisions
will receive the balance of the prorated entitlement based on actual
enrollment. If additional funding
becomes available during fiscal year 2004, we will make an additional remedial
summer school payment.
Questions concerning the fiscal year 2004 remedial
summer school payment may be directed to Mrs. Leigh H. Williams, senior budget
analyst, at (804) 225-2025.
