SUBJECT:	The Virginia Amber Alert Program

At its October 22, 2003, meeting, the Virginia Board of Education adopted a resolution concerning the Virginia Amber Alert Program that was established by the 2003 General Assembly through House Bill 1832.

The resolution, a copy of which is attached, encourages school divisions to work with local law enforcement officials in making information about Amber Alert available to parents, including information about the content of child identification kits and potential sources for obtaining them.
