Practice Assessment Tools: Geometry |
I am pleased to inform you that an electronic
Practice Assessment Tool (ePAT) has been released for End-of-Course (EOC)
Geometry. This software program is
comprised of spring 2002 released geometry test items and is located on the
ePAT home page at: http://etest.ncs.com/Customers/Virginia/pat_home.htm.
This application is intended to support
and enhance student preparation for the Standards of Learning Web-based
Assessments. These tutorials provide direct exposure to the format and
structure of the questions and enable users to receive direct feedback for each
item. Of particular importance in the
new geometry ePAT is student practice with the online compass and straightedge
as preparation for future exposure to the online geometry test. (Geometry will be a comparability study
offering in the spring 2004 SOL test administration.)
As with all ePAT offerings, this application may be
downloaded to workstations or put on a local server at your schools. The application is available in both MAC and
PC versions. No login or password is
required. The application stands alone
and does not require Internet access.
The questions are not scored or reported; students may use the tracking
sheets to assess their performance.
Guidelines for the use of ePAT also are available on the ePAT home page.
I encourage you to download ePAT Geometry (along
with the other subjects available) and allow your students to use them as they
prepare for their Standards of Learning Web-based Assessments.
