To comply with the information and reporting

indicators of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), the Department of
Education is conducting the End-of-Year (EOY) Student Records Data Collection
for the 2003-2004 school year. Informational
Supts. Memo No. 75, dated May 2, 2003, included specific information
regarding the student record collection and reporting timeframes.
The
2003-04 End-of-Year Student Records Data Collection (STUDENT_EOY) should
reflect students records as of the last day of the 2003-04 school year as well
as summer school graduate information.
The end-of-year collection also includes a Web-based entry form to
collect miscellaneous aggregate statistics regarding the number of days each
school was in session and summer school attendance.
A
detailed listing of the data elements on the student record, the aggregate data
collected on the Web-based form, and instructions for completing and submitting
the data can be found on the Virginia Department of Educations website at http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Publications/student-eoy/datacoll/coll.htm.
Two
training sessions will be held to review the Student Records Data Collection
process, discuss changes that have taken place, and address changes that are
planned for the end-of-year and fall student record collections. The training locations and dates are:
