Association of Elementary School Principals Annual Assistant Principal/Lead
Teacher Professional Development Conference |
The Virginia Association of Elementary School
Principals (VAESP) and the Virginia Department of Education extend an
invitation to all principals, assistant principals, and other professional
educators within your schools or school divisions to participate in the 2004
Annual Assistant Principal/Lead Teacher Professional Development
Conference. The Conference, Differentiated
Instruction: Meeting the Needs of ALL Children, will be held March 25-26,
2004, at the Williamsburg Marriott in Williamsburg, Virginia.
This
conference will be highlighted by presentations by Dr. Roger Taylor, Dr. Shane
Templeton, and Dr. Dan Mulligan. Dr. Taylor will provide the opening workshop,
Differentiated Instruction for All Students, focusing on
differentiated instruction for all students, including the special needs
student and the at-risk student. Dr. Templetons keynote address, Reading
and Vocabulary, will focus on developmental word knowledge for elementary
school students. The conference will conclude with Dr. Dan Mulligans workshop,
Strategies for Achievement in Mathematics: Four Key Strands in Grades K-8.
A variety of concurrent sessions will also be offered. These
sessions will focus on the continued impact of the No Child Left Behind Act,
differentiated instruction for all students, legal issues, and bullying. Practitioners from across the commonwealth
and members of the Department of Education will conduct these sessions.
