Standards of Learning Enhanced Scope and Sequence |
I am pleased
to inform you that the K-12 Mathematics Standards of Learning Enhanced Scope
and Sequence is available in Word and PDF format on the Department of
Educations website. This resource is
intended to help teachers align their classroom instruction with the revised
Mathematics Standards of Learning that were adopted by the Board of Education
in October 2001.
Teachers and
curriculum specialists are encouraged to use the Enhanced Scope and Sequence as
a resource for developing sound curricular and instructional programs. These materials are intended as examples of
how the knowledge and skills from the Mathematics Curriculum Framework might be
presented to students in a sequence of lessons aligned with the Standards of
Learning.
A companion
resource that describes strategies for differentiating instruction for limited
English proficient (LEP) students and students with disabilities will be
available within the month to assist school divisions in adapting mathematics
instruction to meet the needs of these subgroups. Additional information about how to access these resources will
be forthcoming in a future superintendents memorandum.
If you need
further information about the K-12 Mathematics Standards of Learning Enhanced
