Migrant Student Web-based System |
In compliance with the reporting requirements
stipulated in the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, the Virginia
Department of Education collects and reports migrant student data for eligible
migrant students in Virginia to the U.S. Department of Education (USED). In order for a student to be classified as a
migrant student, a certificate of eligibility (COE) must be completed to verify
eligibility.
To ensure accuracy in reporting only
certified migrant students, a Web-based system has been developed that contains
a list of migrant students by school division.
Division Directors of Testing (DDOTs) and Student Information Systems
(SIS) contacts have access to the list of eligible migrant students in their
school division via the following link: https://eb01.vak12ed.edu/ssws/com/vdoe/dataAdmin/jsp/LoginContainer.jsp
This official list is particularly important
as a reference in designating migrant students on the Standards of Learning
(SOL) answer sheets and for reporting migrant students for the student data
record collection reports. Migrant
students should not be reported at either time unless their names appear on the
list. The list of eligible migrant students will be updated periodically
throughout the school year to ensure accuracy of eligible migrant
students.
If your school division has students whose
names you believe should appear on the list or if you have additional questions
about migrant student eligibility, please contact Shannon R. Bramblett, migrant
education specialist, at (804) 371-7579, or sbramble@mail.vak12ed.edu.
