Call For Distinguished
Federal Education Program Graduate Nominations |
The Ninth Annual Virginia Association of Federal
Education Program Administrators (VAFEPA) Institute is scheduled for October 20-22, 2004, at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center in
Roanoke, Virginia. The awards luncheon
on Thursday, October 21, will feature
distinguished graduates of federal education programs. Three
graduates who received
services from a federal education program in Virginia will be invited to share
their success stories about how the program made a difference in their
lives.
We invite you to nominate one distinguished graduate from your school
division who at some time in the past received services from one of the
federal education programs in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Please
do not nominate students who have previously been selected for this award.
Once you have identified the graduate whose name
your division would like to nominate, please address the following items with
the graduate before submitting your nomination:
The
nominees interest in participating in the VAFEPA Institute and in the
Distinguished Graduate program;
The
nominees availability on the dates of the VAFEPA Institute; and
Permission
from the nominee to submit his or her name.
Attachment A contains background information and the
nomination form for the Distinguished
Federal Education Program Graduate Project. Please complete and submit the form for your nominee by Wednesday, June 30, 2004. The federal program in the school division
should pay travel expenses for distinguished graduates to attend the 2004
VAFEPA Institute. You may fax or e-mail
the form to the attention of Gabie Frazier, Title I specialist, at the Virginia
Department of Education. If you have
questions, contact Ms. Frazier at (804) 225-2907 or gfrazier@mail.vak12ed.edu.
