Regional Training:
Discipline, Crime, and Violence Data Reporting |
The purpose of this memo is to provide information on
regional training related to the collection and reporting of discipline, crime,
and violence data. Data are submitted
by all school divisions to meet the reporting requirements for the following:
During the training sessions, department staff will address
the following:
New requirements created by the No Child Left Behind
Act of 2001 (Persistently Dangerous Schools)
These
sessions are designed to provide information on the Department of Educations
combined discipline data reporting process.
It is recommended that participants include school division discipline
contact persons, building administrators, data administrators, Safe and
Drug-Free Schools coordinators, school resource officers, school security
coordinators, and other individuals at the building or division level who are
directly involved with the collection and submission of these data (e.g.,
technology staff, data entry staff).
Training sessions will be conducted in the four locations listed
below on the dates shown. Participants
may attend any session that is most convenient for them.

We are requesting
that participants pre-register for the sessions, using the attached
registration form. We are also requesting that pre-registration be submitted at
least five days prior to attendance.
