SUBJECT:	Local Plan for Career and Technical Education

The local plan for Career and Technical Education is being made available to you earlier this year. The early availability of the plan is to enable you to have additional time for planning, developing, and approving the plan with representatives required by the Standards of Quality and the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 1998. We hope the extra time will help in meeting the due date of May 6, 2005.

Changes have been made in the 2005-06 plan. The changes are based on the updated Standards of Quality approved by the General Assembly and on requirements for the extension of the state Perkins plan that was submitted for the 2004-05 school year. Since new legislation has not been approved for Career and Technical Education, we have made minor changes from the previous required local applications.
