SUBJECT:

Training Workshops on the Financial Portion of the Fiscal Year 2005 Annual School Report

The Department of Education is offering workshops in early August to provide training for personnel responsible for completing the financial portion of the fiscal year 2005 Annual School Report. The goal of this training is to offer an overview of reporting requirements, familiarize new users with the technical aspects of the collection instrument, identify data collection modifications, and answer questions. The training is designed for individuals new to the reporting process of the financial section of the Annual School Report.

The training will be provided in the Personnel Development Services (PDS) training center on the mezzanine level of the James Monroe Building in downtown Richmond, Virginia. The size of the training room limits each session to 18 participants. Reservations for each session will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis. We ask that you limit the number of individuals attending from your division to two people, since the number of computers in the training room is limited.

The department will provide four workshops as follows:

Day Date Session Time

Thursday August 4, 2005 9 a.m. 12 noon

Thursday August 4, 2005 1 p.m. 4 p.m.

Tuesday August 9, 2005 9 a.m. 12 noon

Tuesday August 9, 2005 1 p.m. 4 p.m.

If you would like to attend one of the training workshops, please complete and fax the attached registration form (Attachment A) to Cathy Estep at (804) 225-2300 by July 26, 2005.

Attachment B provides directions to the James Monroe Building. Please note that visitor sign-in with valid identification (i.e., drivers license) is required for entry into the James Monroe Building.
