SUBJECT:	Reimbursement of Tuition for Eligible Students with Disabilities Attending Certain Regional Special Education Programs During the Period February 1, 2005, Through June 30, 2005

Attached are instructions for claiming reimbursement for services provided by certain regional special education programs that have been approved by the state. Included with the instructions is a list identifying each regional program and school code number.

Reimbursement requests must be submitted via the Department of Educations Web-based SPEDSYS reporting system, and received no later than October 21, 2005. If you do NOT plan to submit a claim for reimbursement under this program, notify the Department of Education no later than October 3, 2005, (see attached instructions).

Students with disabilities being served in approved regional programs are not eligible for ADM or other state aid if reimbursement is claimed under this funding program. Reimbursement from state special education funds is based on compliance with regulations of the Board of Education as certified by the division superintendent.

The Department of Education will process all data received by the submission deadline of October 21, and transmit verification reports to division superintendents for review and final certification. School divisions may expect funds to be deposited to their accounts in late November or early December 2005.
