A Technical Assistance Workshop on Completing the
2005-2006 Applications for Federal Funds Under the No Child Left Behind
Act of 2001 (NCLB) |
The Department of Education is pleased to
announce a technical assistance workshop designed to provide guidance to school
divisions in completing the 2005-2006 applications for federal funds under the No
Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). The following topics will be
addressed: mechanics of completing the electronic application, writing
consolidated measurable goals and objectives, completing the program-specific
information requests, and the process for revising and re-submitting the
electronic applications.
School divisions are invited to send to the workshop
up to two persons who are responsible for completion of the consolidated
application. If the school division
submits individual applications, the Title I coordinator and the selected
program representative should attend.
These individuals will be able to share information with representatives
from the other federally titled programs.
Each participant should bring a laptop
computer. The revised 2005-2006 consolidated application should be downloaded
to the laptop before attending the meeting.
The consolidated application will also be used as a model for the
individual application. This document
will be available after April 1, 2005, at the following site: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Instruction/OCP/nclb-applications.html. Should there be problems downloading the
application, department staff will have the consolidated application available
on disc at the meeting.

breaks will be provided. Meeting
