2005 Virginia Pupil Transportation Conference, June 19-22, 2005 |
The 2005
Virginia Pupil Transportation Conference sponsored by the Virginia Association
for Pupil Transportation (VAPT) and supported by the Department of Education
(DOE) will be held at the Hampton Holiday Inn, Hampton, June 19-22, 2005.
Information
regarding the details of the conference will be sent to the transportation
director in your school division.
Registration is scheduled to begin at noon on Sunday, June 19. VAPT is sponsoring a ROAD-E-O for drivers on
the afternoon of Monday, June 20.
The theme of
the conference this year is Safe and Secure.
The conference will include sessions for transportation personnel on
topics such as security, weather conditions, downed power lines, and dealing
with gangs. Off-site technical maintenance training will be held for
technicians and mechanics. Exhibitors will be present to discuss their products
with drivers, technicians, and directors.
A special
invitation is extended to division superintendents and other school personnel
involved with or interested in pupil transportation. Registration information will be contained in the package that
will be sent to your transportation director and also posted on the VAPT Web
site at: http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Finance/VAPT/.
