Career and Technical Education Professional Development Institute, August 1 5, 2005 |
The
Career and Technical Education Professional Development Institute will be held
August 1 5, 2005, at the Richmond Convention Center. School divisions are invited to send representatives
to this professional development institute.
The theme, Capitalizing on The Future, will focus on providing
teachers, administrators, and local advisory councils with the skills needed to
develop and/or maintain programs that raise expectations and increase student
achievement. The target audience is
career and technical educators, central office staff, and local advisory
council members. The Career and
Technical Education Professional Development Institute is funded in part by
federal funds to assist in meeting the professional development requirements of
the Carl D. Perkins Act and Virginias approved state plan.
Registration
There is a
registration fee of $125 for participants who register before June 17,
2005. After June 17, the fee is
$150. The general registration form
contains additional information about meals and events included in the fee.

Hotel Reservations (by July 1, 2005)
Participants must call the hotel of choice, as listed in the announcement, to make lodging reservations. Lodging rates are $74 (plus tax) single or double (or the prevailing state rates in August 2005). Individuals are responsible for their lodging bill, including taxes and incidentals, and meals that are not included in registration, and travel expenses.
