Lee-Jackson Foundation Scholarship Recipients |
On behalf of
the Lee-Jackson Foundation, the Department of Education is pleased to announce
the 2004-2005 recipients of the foundations essay contest. The foundation has traditionally focused on
scholarships as the best vehicle to encourage high school students to continue
their education and sponsors an annual essay competition to make its
awards. Scholarships are given for
outstanding essays, which
demonstrate an appreciation of the exemplary character and soldierly virtues of
Generals Lee and Jackson. Essays are
judged with emphasis on historical accuracy, quality of research, and clarity
of written expression. Additional information
about the Lee-Jackson Foundation Scholarship may be found on the Internet at www.lee-jackson.org.
A list of the recipients by regions is attached for your convenience.
Thank you for
