Algebra Readiness
Initiative (ARI) and Algebra Readiness Diagnostic Test (ARDT) Training
Workshops |
This summer the Virginia Department of Education
will sponsor three regional informational and training workshops related to the
Algebra Readiness Initiative (ARI). These
workshops will concentrate on the use of the Algebra Readiness Diagnostic Test
(ARDT) and how to use the test results in making decisions affecting
instruction.
Two of the workshops will focus on preparing
participants who are new to ARI. These
two full-day workshops will teach the basics of how to set up the ARDT,
organize school testing, interpret test results, and use those results to to
support instruction. The dates and
locations of these two workshops are:
August 2, 2005 Christiansburg Middle School,
Montgomery County; and
August 8, 2005 Jack Jouett Middle School,
Albemarle County.
These two workshops will be held from 10 a.m. until
3 p.m. Each division may send up to two
participants using the attached registration form due July 22, 2005. Registrations will be accepted in the order
they are received until the workshops are full.
In additional to the two workshops for those new to ARI, the Department of Education will also sponsor a workshop for experienced ARI coordinators. The purpose of this session is to share the latest updates to the ARDT. In addition, there will be a panel discussion on common issues faced by ARI coordinators. This workshop will be held at Meadowbrook High School in Chesterfield County on August 4, 2005, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. To register, use the attached registration form due by July 22, 2005.
